Shure Introduces Two New Headphones For The Recording Studio

It’s usually a good idea to sit up and take a good look whenever Shure releases a new product. Two new SRH headphones models have been added to the legendary audio brand’s repertoire today. These new closed-back versions include a redesigned design and “nuanced enhancements to the audio quality,” according to Shure.

Shure must maintain its designs up to current and fashionable in today’s headphone industry, which is nearly more about fashion as sound. The second-generation of Shure’s award-winning SRH440A and SRH840A models, according to the company, provide improved audio, long-wearing comfort, and the legendary Shure durability that audio professionals adore. The two new SRH headphones were created with artists and recording pros in mind, and they provide exceptional quality, enhanced features, and a sleek design.

“Today’s customers are demanding high-quality audio without compromising elegance and comfort,” says Sean Sullivan, Shure’s Global Product Manager for Listening Products. This improvement has a low-profile design that looks fantastic on camera, as well as better acoustics for clear, consistent audio output. Professional headphones with Shure’s famous sound characteristic and a new, contemporary style will assist recording pros and content producers.”

Lower harmonic distortion and more exact left and right driver matching are among the features of the two new models, which have been tuned for critical listening and studio monitoring. The SRH840A offers a frequency response that is perfectly adjusted thanks to 40mm neodymium dynamic drivers that can produce deep bass, clean mid-range, and extended highs. A broad, cushioned headband and a foldable design work together to make listening more pleasant and clear.

The following features are included in both the SRH440A and SRH840A:

  • Comfortable to wear for long periods of time. Even during long recording sessions, the closed-back, circumaural design sits securely over the listener’s ears and eliminates background noise for increased comfort.
  • A new industrial design with a matte surface that is more photogenic than the previous design while yet being durable enough to survive the rigors of daily usage. For enhanced mobility in creative environments, each model comes with a straight 3m/9.84ft cable as standard.
  • Both headphones have sound characteristics that have been fine-tuned for recording and editing. Rich bass, clean mid-range, and extended highs are all delivered by the SRH840A’s optimized frequency response. The SRH440A’s sound characteristic is transparent and natural, delivering clear and precise sounds across a wide frequency range.

Shure’s SRH440A headphones will cost £89, $99, or €99, depending on where you live. A 3m/9.84ft locking bayonet cable with a threaded gold stereo 1/8″ to 1/4″ converter is supplied, as well as a detachable and straight 3m/9.84ft locking bayonet cable. The SRH840A headphones come with a carrying case, a detachable 3m/9.84ft locking bayonet cable, and a threaded gold stereo 1/8″ to 1/4″ converter for £135 / $149 / €149. Both variants are currently available.
