1. SVS SB-1000

Best car door speakers

Product Specifications

  • Carbon-injected Plus One cones are larger than others in their size class, meaning they move more air and make more bass. Dimensions: Mounting Cutout Diameter: 5-1/16 inches. Mounting Depth: 2 inches. External Diameter: 6-1/4 inches
  • A patented UniPivot tweeter allows you to aim the sound at your ears, even when the speakers are mounted down low in the doors for a much more lifelike sound
  • A dual-level tweeter volume adjustment helps compensate for less-than-perfect speaker placement, and can even be set to suit your personal listening preference and musical taste
  • Low-impedance, three-ohm speakers compensate for the undersized wires found in many of today’s cars and make the most of every watt your car stereo can deliver
  • Dedicated 12dB/octave, high-quality crossover components direct the highs and lows to the appropriate speakers for the best sound possible

When it comes to speaker design, JBL has a well-deserved reputation for manufacturing well-made and great-sounding speakers, and the JBL GTO629 lives up to that reputation. These speakers offer superb sound quality and a superior design, and we have no reservations in recommending them.

JBL’s success may be boiled down to two factors. First, the GTO629’s big, carbon-injected cones can move a lot of air and deliver powerful deep bass. Second, JBL’s UniPivotTM tweeters, are patented. UniPivotTM tweeters may be positioned low in a car door and still send mid and high-frequency sounds up into the cabin, away from the floor, thanks to their ability to swivel in practically any direction. The resulting sound is clean and sharp, and it sounds more like component speakers than full-range (coaxial) speakers set in the door.

The GTO629 speakers from JBL provide a powerful 5-60 watts RMS (180 watts peak) power range with a frequency response of 53-21,000 Hz. Their low-impedance 3-ohm design means that your sound quality isn’t harmed by the size of your connected wires.

While these speakers are 6.5-inch speakers and will fit a 6.5-inch aperture, they do not use the normal bolt pattern. To install them, you may need to use an adapter bracket or drill new screw holes. With the right bracket, it can be installed in a 6.75-inch opening, just like many 6.5-inch speakers.

These speakers are more expensive than the majority of those on our list in terms of pricing. However, in this situation, the extra cost is well worth it due to the superior quality and performance.

  • Exceptional audio quality
  • Highs and lows to die for
  • Sound quality is unaffected when put in unusual locations.
  • Undersized wiring has no effect on the sound.

  • Price
  • Installing it was a little difficult.

If you’re looking for the best deal on a new set of best car door speakers, a pair of BOSS Audio Systems CH6230s is the way to go. While the sound quality isn’t quite as good as the JBLs, these are by far the best door speakers for car for the money.

These 6.5-inch three-way speakers feature a frequency response of 100 to 18,000 Hz and can handle 150 watts of RMS power (peak). All of this adds up to these budget speakers being no slouch in terms of sound quality. The BOSS Audio Systems CH6530 speakers have a pleasant sound, thanks to three different parts in each speaker that ensure bright, clear high and mid-tones, as well as strong bass.

Premium construction quality is to be expected, but for around a fifth of the cost of a pair of JBL GTO629’s, it shouldn’t come as a surprise.

  • Excellent value for money.
  • The sound quality is excellent over the entire frequency range.
  • High-capacity capability

  • Build quality isn’t up to par.
  • Installing it is difficult.

When you drive the world’s best electric car, you should have the world’s best radio,” Tesla claims. We won’t remark on their claim to be the “greatest in the world,” but the Model S Premium Car Sound System is undeniably impressive, and these speakers were developed particularly to be part of that package.

These speakers will be a straight replacement for the factory-installed speakers in Tesla Model S vehicles. They’ll join quickly; they’ll be nearly plug-and-play, and they’ll bolt precisely into place, with all of the holes perfectly aligned. They also sound fantastic and are a significant upgrade above the factory-installed speakers that come with Tesla’s standard stereo system.

These are some very good speakers, with two front and two rear 166 mm custom size speakers included, each rated at 1.2 ohms and capable of handling 250 watts RMS power.

However, the majority of people will have one, if not two, issues. The first consideration is the cost. At the time of writing, a pair of speakers cost just under $1,000, which is over five times the price of our top pick, the JBL GTO629 speakers. And as for the second, unless you own a Tesla Model S, you’re unlikely to desire a pair of speakers that have been custom-made for that vehicle.

  • Build quality is exceptional.
  • It sounds fantastic.
  • Installation is simple (Tesla Model S only)

  • Quite Expensive
  • Speakers made to order (Tesla Model S)

Kenwood’s KFC-1666S 2-way speakers are one of the most popular and best 6.5 car door speakers on the market today. They have a 1-inch balanced dome tweeter that gives lovely clean mid and high tones, and a Polypropylene woofer with treated fabric surrounds that delivers strong, deep lows. They are rated from 40-22,000 Hz.

They can handle 30 watts RMS of power and are a great speaker, however, they fall short of the BOSS Audio Systems CH6230 in terms of performance. They might be right for you if all you want to do is replace your old factory speakers without spending too much money or thinking about making any other changes to your stereo system.

  • Full-range speakers that are good
  • An excellent improvement over the stock speakers.
  • Excellent value for money

  • A tweeter that isn’t customizable

Product Specifications

  • Full-Range Speaker(s)

The Pioneer TS-F1634R 2-way speakers can increase your sound while saving you money. These fairly priced speakers aren’t going to win any awards, but if you’re looking for an upgrade over your factory speakers’ hollowed-out sound, a set of Pioneer TS series speakers could be the answer.

They will suit most 6.5-inch and 6.75-inch speaker positions, have a frequency response of 20-28,000 Hz and can take 2-30 watts RMS (180 watts peak).

These speakers have a wonderful look to them and come with a grill. They also provide a constant tone, which is important.

  • Inexpensive
  • Make a good impression.
  • The sound that is consistent

  • A tweeter that isn’t customizable

6. Rockford Fosgate 3-Way Coaxial Speaker

Rockford Fosgate 3-Way Coaxial Speaker

Product Specifications

  • The Prime R165X3 is a pair of 6.50″ 3-Way Full-Range Speakers that are ideal for that factory speaker upgrade you’ve been looking for
  • The 6.5” speakers have a mounting depth of 2.15″ and come with grilles and mounting hardware
  • Perfect for replacing factory speakers, they feature polypropylene cones, a silk dome Piezo tweeter, and a midrange

We really like the Rockford Fosgate R165X3, and the only reason they didn’t make it to number four on our list is that they’re 50% more expensive than some of the others we looked at. These Rockford Fosgate speakers, like the BOSS Audio Systems CH6230, are three-way speakers. They also have a superb high pass tweeter crossover, which sends all of the higher frequencies to the tweeters, resulting in a clear and crisp sound. They have a frequency response of 52 to 20,000 Hz and are rated at 45 watts RMS (90 watts peak).

The only issue we found with these speakers was a tiny bass distortion at higher volume levels. This is unlikely to be visible unless you are always listening to bass-heavy music.

A pair of Rockford Fosgate R165X3 speakers will not disappoint you in terms of build quality. As an added bonus, Rockford Fosgate included a steel basket grill in the box, which not only looks nice but also protects the inside speaker area from extraneous things.

  • Create high-quality products.
  • 3-way audio system
  • Crossover with a high-pass filter

  • At higher volumes, there is a slight distortion.
  • a higher price

7. Infinity Reference Series Coaxial Car Speakers

Infinity Reference Series Coaxial Car Speakers

Product Specifications

  • High-quality product
  • Manufactured in the United States
  • Package Weight: 6.0 lbs

The Infinity Reference REF6522ix is a well-made speaker with superb sound. Its strength is in the quality of its mid and high-range tones, which are both bright and lively. Its loudness maybe a little lower than other speakers in this range, but its strength rests in the quality of its mid and high range tones, which are both bright and vivid.

The FER6522ix can handle 60 watts RMS (180 watts peak) and can be powered straight from your stereo head unit or through an external amplifier. They have a substantially larger cone than many other speakers of similar size, which is pleasing to the eye.

While these are good speakers that perform well, we believe that there are several other models on this list that will provide substantially greater value for money, both in terms of price and performance.

  • Clarity and vibrancy are excellent.
  • Frequencies in the mid and high ranges are excellent.
  • Exceptional construction

  • Price
  • Overall volume is lower.

8. JVC 2-Way Coaxial Car Speakers

JVC 2-Way Coaxial Car Speakers

Product Specifications

  • Power Handling: Peak: 300 watts / RMS: 30 watts
  • Mica cone; Ferrite Magnet-Woofer and Neodymium Magnet -Tweeter; Hybrid Surround
  • Hybrid Rubber and Cloth surround
  • 1″ Poly-Ether Imide balanced dome tweeter

The JVC CS-J620 is a cost-effective replacement for your factory-installed door speakers. They have a 30 watt RMS (300 peaks) power rating and a frequency response of 35 to 22,000 Hz. However, after giving them a closer look, we have serious doubts regarding their ability to take 300 watts RMS at peak.

On the plus side, these speakers are simple to install and feature a shallow pressed metal frame with plenty of mounting holes, so you shouldn’t have to make any modifications to get them to fit your vehicle.

Overall, like with the Infinity speakers above, we discovered that there are several different speakers in the same price range that will deliver superior sound and value for money, based on both price and performance.

  • The price that is reasonable
  • The sound quality is superior to that of most stock speakers.
  • Installation is simple.

  • The bass is terrible.
  • Build quality is poor.

Hopefully, these reviews have provided you with a clear starting point when it comes to replacing your car door speakers with the best car door speakers for bass on the market.

There are a lot of fantastic speakers (and a lot of bad ones), but we’re convinced that if you choose one of the speakers at the top of our list, you won’t be disappointed.

A: Certainly not. Many speakers will not fit in some vehicles due to additional components such as the grille or tweeters. Take the measurements of your factory speakers and look for aftermarket speaker choices with similar setups to be safe.

A: Although an amplifier is not required, it is a nice alternative for improved sound quality. In comparison to a head unit or a car radio, amplifiers transmit a clearer audio signal to the speakers. An amplifier also controls the amount of power delivered to the speakers, preventing them from being blown out and increasing their volume output.

A: It certainly does. The cone shape (whether constructed of synthetics, treated paper, or composites) generates an environment that is conducive to lower frequencies, resulting in a louder bass tone. Furthermore, a cone-shaped speaker is easier to attach than a 4 by 6 speaker system.
